Wray Endowed School PTA

As a parent, guardian or teacher of a child at Wray Endowed Primary School, you are now a member of the Parent Teacher Association...

...WELCOME!!

Aims and Objectives

The PTA serves two main functions working towards furthering the educational, social and general opportunities of our children at Wray School:

  • Communication – to adopt good communication between parents and staff within the school community.
  • Fundraising – the PTA organises several events throughout the year to provide additional funds for the school to buy equipment and books.

Uniforms

A member of PTA organises the ordering and distribution of school uniforms twice a year (January and June). This is a red sweatshirt with the school emblem across the front and a red T-shirt with the same emblem for P.E. Also available in summer are red school caps.

Social Events

PTA organises several social events throughout the year, which are hard work, great fun and make loads of money for our children.

The first for this academic year is the bingo. This is now well established in the bingo calendar and is always the second Friday in November.

Prizes are always plentiful including food and toiletry hampers and loads of house/line prizes of bottles, chocolates, biscuits, etc.

This event usually raises in the region of £600. This money is used to take the whole school to a local pantomime at Christmas.

Our second major event is providing refreshments to the public in Wray Institute during the Scarecrow Festival in Wray. PTA (with the help of Pre-school and Youth club parents) always provides this service during the second weekend of the festival from 8am-8pm. We serve only homemade produce including soup, bacon butties, sandwiches and a fantastic array of homemade cakes and scones.

This weekend is one of our major sources of income making in excess of £2000 in 2 days!! Profit is split between PTA, Pre-school and Wray Youth Club.
