Volunteers The Wray Scarecrow Festival and Fair 2013 is as always in need of the help of volunteers. We will be publishing a list of critical tasks which we need volunteers for (on this page, in the institute notice board and in the Wrayly Mail). If you think that you can help out in any way we’d love to hear from you. Please let us know at the earliest opportunity what you can help with and when you are available either by emailing wrayfestivalandfair@gmail.com or speaking to a member of the committee. Please also feel free to pop along to any of our committee meetings to find out what is going on and how you can help. This road closure will be through Lancaster City Council and under the provisions of sec. 21 of Town Police Clauses Act 1847 which allows for temporary closures for events such as ours. It applies to vehicular traffic only and will be from the junction with Wennington Road to the Tearooms. A diversion route will be signed for vehicles wishing to pass through the village that will take them along Agnes Ing Lane. The signs will be erected at 10 am each day and removed at 4 pm. The ‘barrier’ at Wennington Road will be staffed continually. Please be reassured that access remains open for all residents on Main Street to park and get their vehicles in and out during the closure. Pedestrians are not affected. If you need to move through the closure for access please be aware that pedestrians may not be expecting vehicles within the closure area. Please move very slowly – 10 MPH maximum. Put your hazard lights on. Think Children and if possible please use the diversion route or go via Butt Yeats and school lane for the bottom of the village Thank You to all resdients for your continued support and patience.
